I worked with Sean
for a number of months in early 2010 on a project. Sean's project and
process knowledge were extremely valuable to the intiative and helped
ensure its success. Sean helped Tesco Mobile establish some excellent processes early on in
the evolution of the business. They have stood the test of time. I’m

We commissioned BCO Consultants to do a Customer Experience review
of the business. This involved analysing the habits, needs and
requirements of our existing and potential customers. In-depth
interviews, competitive analysis and operational testing all helped to
provide a complete picture of how our services were perceived from our
customers viewpoints. The results of the review also gave a sense of
comfort to us that the strategic direction of the company was aligned
with customer requirements. We were impressed with the speed Sean was able to understand the
inner workings of our business and how he could identify process
changes and new solutions which will definitely allow us to enhance our
competitive position and attract additional customers. In addition, he
also identified a number of new commercial opportunities which will
allow us to increase our profitability.
We are very pleased with the results delivered by BCO Consultants and have already commissioned another project from them. When Oracle decided to establish the European operations of its Global
Helpdesk in Dublin, Sean was called upon to design and implement the
processeses needed to ensure a smooth launch. I would like to highlight Sean's skill in ensuring the highest
level of service for our customers, while at the same time making sure
that business goals and financial constraints are understood and met.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Sean's work to other
companies. His professionalism, customer focus and attention to detail
ensure that any job he undertakes will be done successfully. Launching a startup company was a very challenging operation,
particularily one whose products needed to fit into the existing supply
chain of retail giant Tesco. Ensuring that logistical, operational and
financial processes were aligned across multiple partners was crucial
to making sure that the company's cashflow was sufficient to remain in
business. He ran a full day workshop with financial and stock
management representatives from 4 separate companies involved in the
supply chain process. His careful preparation and briefings prior to
the workshop, along with his leadership throughout the day, enabled all
parties to leave with a complete and unified understanding of how the
end-to-end financial arrangements would work.
I am pleased to say that the processes agreed at this workshop were
successfully implemented at launch and continued to be used throughout
the following years. I believe that a lot of its success lies in the
work Sean did in bringing together all of the stakeholders at this
workshop and making sure that the outcome was a fully agreed and mapped
out financial process. Sean headed up a major online fraud reduction project that brought about a significant decrease in financial losses relating to online credit card fraud. Working with our own internal finance department, as well as a number of external suppliers, he successfully tested and deployed an industry leading fraud prevention solution from Accertify. This solution significantly reduced the manual effort involved in reviewing potentially fraudulent transactions and the result has been a reduction in bank chargeback costs and an increase in gross profit margin. Following a recommendation from a business colleague, I asked BCO Consultants to do a Customer Experience process review of my retail operations to identify new opportunities to improve the way we engaged with existing and new customers.
As a result of their recommendations, we were able to make significant improvements to overall business operations and to bring about ongoing reductions in operational costs. I would happily recommend the work of BCO Consultants to other companies looking to improve their own performance and cost effectiveness.
In the following years, Sean refined the operational processeses and
introduced new support tools and reporting systems. The efficiencies
and cost savings achieved by this work allowed the subsequent launch of
several external helpdesks without the need for additional support
staff.
Sean's process mapping and workshop facilitiation skills did this for
TescoMobile.
Sean also took on the responsibility for certifying that all our financial and transactional processes were fully compliant with recently introduced PCI credit card compliance regulation. He worked effectively with all departments to map out their existing work practices and to lead them in the changes necessary to meet their regulatory requirements.
The results were impressive, ranging from enhanced online communications, better collaboration with other local businesses and more effective ways to attract and retain customers.
As a small business owner, I found the approach used to be very innovative and cost-effective, with recommendations that were easy to implement.
